`Turkey should strive for closure of Metsamor NPP` - Jewish MP
`Metsamor is an international danger, the neighboring countries should strive for its closure`, the Jewish origin Azerbaijani MP Yevda Abramov told AzVision.az

`The UN, its relevant institutions and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should take the issue under their control: `The neighboring countries should appeal to international organization for the closure of Metsamor NPP. The plant is dangerous not only for Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia, but also for Russia and Iran. That is, the issue should be raised before the international organizations`, he said.

`The technical equipments of Metsamor NPP are outdated. Armenia is very poor country, so it has not enough finance to repair the plant. As a whole, the station is dangerous for the humanity`, MP added.

`Turkey is more interested in closure of the plant. It is only 25 km away from Turkey and the country is quite powerful country within the region. So, Turkey should also do its best to draw international organizations` attention on the issue`, Abramov concluded.
