Armenian ministers of defense and foreign affairs made statements after Shahin Mirzayev`s border crossing.
Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry expressed his distaste for this issue:
`Actually Armenian foreign minister and Vigen Sargsyan, defense minister made statements on this marginal person. It proves that Armenia exposes itself with this statement and this person has secret relations with Armenian Special Service. Armenian ministries are exposed to ridicule by making this person an object of propaganda.
Ministry of Defense of Armenia claims that ethnic minorities have problems in Azerbaijan. We would like to remind that Armenia is an only mono-ethnic state in the world as a result of ethnic cleansing and racism policies. After the independence, more than 200.000 Azerbaijani as well as Russian and Slavic originated people, yazidi kurds, jews and others were repelled from the Armenian territories.
Azerbaijan is proud of its traditions of ethnic-culture, religious diversity and multiculturalism. Besides, the country contributes to promotion of multiculturalism at international level.`
