At least 18 Daesh militants including commander killed in airstrike
An airstrike in eastern Afghanistan`s Nangarhar province resulted in the death of at least 18 Daesh militants including a commander of the terrorist group, local media reported on Wednesday.
According to the Khaama Press agency, the Daesh commander killed in the airstrike has been identified as Qari Hamza. It has not been revealed yet, whether the US forces or the Afghan Air Force carried out the air strike, targeting Daesh militants in Shedal area of the province`s Achin district, according to the media outlet.

Afghanistan is in a state of political and social turmoil, with government forces fighting the continuing Taliban insurgency, while other extremist groups, such as Daesh group, outlawed in many countries including the United States and Russia, have also expanded their activities both in the country and in neighboring states. The instability has persisted in the country since the 2001 US-led invasion to defeat the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
