According to the draft law on “State budget of Azerbaijan for 2017” submitted by the president Ilham Aliyev to the parliament, the defence spending increased AZN 1,026,700,000 or 63.66% to AZN 2,642,000,000.
In the final version of the draft budget, AZN 1,269,905,140 is for defence forces, AZN 11,929,106 for national security, AZN 2,642,144 for applied researches in defence and security, AZN 1,257,616,282 for expenses not belonging to other categories.
