European Parliament calls Armenia `occupant`
Ivo Vajgl (Slovenia) and Hannu Takkula (Finland), the members of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the European Parliament hosted hearings on`the escalation of the tension in the Nagorno-Karabakh: the cause of concern for the European Union`, AzVision.az reports.

The other members of the European Parliament Norica Nicolai (Romania), Iveta Grigule (Latvia) and Anneli Yaatenmaki (Finland) also attended the hearings.

EP member Ivo Vajgl stressed the urgent solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He recalled his visit to refugee camps in Armenian-occupied Aghdam region of Azerbaijan.

`The European Union should pay high-level political attention to the issue`, he said.

The EP member H.Takkula drew the interest of other members of the Parliament to the non-settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the consequences of Armenian aggression. She said, the Armenian Armed Forces must withdrow its troops from the occupied Azerbaijani lands.

According to 4 resolutions of the UN Security Council, the Armenian Armed Forces must withdraw from the occupied territories and the conflict settlement process should base on the international law norms, MP Norika Nikolai emphasized.

During the hearings, some members of the Armenian delegation tried to influence the course of event, but they failed. Armenian aggression is reflected on the statements of the majority of EP members.
