Everything is all right at Azerbaijani referendum - French MP
Everything is all right at Azerbaijan’s constitutional referendum, French MP Thierry Mariani, who is in Azerbaijan to observe the referendum, told reporters in Baku Sept. 26.
“To tell the truth, we know without observing that everything is all right,” said the MP.

Mariani said he has visited five polling stations so far.

“It’s the first I have seen more than 20 issues being put to the vote. I think of this as the only way to learn the people’s opinion,” said the French MP. “Organizers of the referendum allow us to answer various questions. I think everything is all right from organizational point of view. I’m waiting for the results.”

The referendum to make amendments to Azerbaijan’s Constitution kicked off at 08:00 am local time and will wrap up at 7:00 pm.

The number of voters in Azerbaijan stands at 5,267,111 people.
