Iran warships dock at Azerbaijani coast
An Iranian Navy flotilla, including the home-made Damavand destroyer and a missile-armed vessel, dubbed Joshan, arrived in Baku Oct. 19.
The warships were welcomed with a military orchestra.

During the three-day visit, the Iranian delegation will visit the graves of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev and his spouse Zarifa Aliyeva as well as the Alley of Martyrs, said Natig Baghirov, deputy command of the Azerbaijani Naval Forces.

They will then meet with the command of the Azerbaijani Naval Forces and pay a visit to the Azerbaijan High Military School. Moreover, there will be a friendly soccer match, he added.

“This is the first time Iranian military ships have visited Azerbaijan since the country gained independence,” Baghirov noted.
