Italian government informed about discontents - Maros Sefcovic
There are progresses on realization of hte Southern Gas Corridor and we positively appreciate this, said Maros Sefcovic, European Commission Vice-President for Energy Union at the press conference.
“In fact, we were pleased with hearing about progressive steps in all parts of the project. There are great progresses in the project. We considered the project for the third time today. And we thank Azerbaijani government, heads of countries located along the route, the financial institutions to fund the project. The SGC will be profitable for the countries located along the route. There were discontents about delays in the realization of the project. And we informed the Italian government about the discontents. We think the SGC is an important project for all participants, especially Italy. Because this gas will firstly be delivered to Italy. We want the first gas to be delivered to Turkey in 2018, to Europe in 2020. We’ll achieve it”, Sefcovic said.
