According to the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper, the 29-year-old refugee was trying to attack another migrant living in the refugee reception center — a 27-year-old man — with a knife when the police intervened with several police officers firing at the alleged attacker.
The man later died from multiple gun-shot wounds, the paper reported.
According to the paper, the police was at the site at the time of the attempted attack as it had arrived to detain the 27-year-old individual over accusations of harassment toward the eight-year-old daughter of the now deceased refugee. Police has reportedly launched an investigation into the incident.
