Armenian-made explosive substances detected in Azerbaijan

Explosive substances have been detected in Azerbaijan's Khojavand district, a source in the Interior Ministry told reporters.

According to the source, within a building located near the district's Guney Khirman village, 74 mines and grenades of various types, four explosives of TNT equivalent, 110 explosive substances, 12 shells, over 23,000 cartridges, and other ammunition were uncovered and handed over to relevant authorities.

“Besides, a person was identified and taken into custody who refused to provide the police the discovered ammunition as a result of the operative actions conducted, and sixty machine gun cartridges were discovered and seized from him.

An investigation into these facts is being conducted at the Khojavand district police department," added the source.

Following the liberation of its lands, Azerbaijan began operations in November 2020 to clean its lands of mines, booby traps, and other weaponry left behind by illegal Armenian forces.
