Twitter bans about 380,000 accounts for promotion of terrorism
Twitter Inc has shut down 377,000 accounts for threatening or promoting terrorist acts since the second half of 2016, Twitter reported.
Of the 376,890 accounts Twitter suspended for posting terrorism-related content, just two percent were the result of government requests to remove data. Twitter said 74% of extremist accounts were found by “internal, proprietary spam-fighting tools.”

Turkey submitted the most requests at 3,076, which is in keeping with recent years. However, this was the first time France submitted the second highest volume of requests, at 1,334, more twice as many as Russia’s requests of 522.
