“Today, the official and public circles of Azerbaijan convey to international organizations and the world community irrefutable facts on the acts of ethnic cleansing and genocide committed by Armenian extremists in the Azerbaijani territory,” said the appeal letter. “Armenian extremists who pretend to be genocide victims and those who back them should know that the truth will sooner or later come out and justice will triumph.”
The constant vandalism against religious monuments in the Azerbaijani territories which are under Armenian occupation, the excavations inside the Govhar Agha Mosque in Shusha aimed at concealing historical realities and falsifying cultural heritage are all deemed to be an act of moral genocide against the people of Azerbaijan, said CMO urging the international community to strongly condemn such cases.
The statement emphasized that crimes against humanity must be slammed.
“The truth that is found in the holy books of all Abrahamic faiths is that the killing of one man is as grave as the killing of entire mankind. As Azerbaijan’s religious representatives, we call on the international community to give political and legal assessment to Armenia’s acts of genocide against the people of Azerbaijan,” the statement concluded.
