In the video, allegedly shot at a hospital in Lankao county, Henan province, two medical workers are seen getting into a verbal argument which quickly escalates to fisticuffs. After the female nurse throws a punch, her male coworker responds by pummeling her over the head and knocking her to the floor where she remains for the rest of the clip.
The fracas gets the attention of other medical workers inside the room, causing one of the surgeons to come over to try to quiet down the dispute, leaving another surgeon to continue her work alone.
The incident is currently being investigated by police. An officer told reporters that the fight occurred after the operation had taken place, claiming that the patient had already left the operating room. Chinese netizens have laughed at this claim, pointing out that the video appears to clearly show that the operation is ongoing at the time of the brawl.
