First Azerbaijan-Romania Inter-University Forum kicks off in Baku
The 1st Azerbaijan-Romania Inter-University Forum kicked off in Baku May 24.
The opening ceremony of the forum, organized by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education, was held at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Education Minister Firudin Gurbanov, the delegation led by Deputy Education Minister of Romania Gigel Paraschiv, ADA vice-rector Fariz Ismayilzade, rectors of both countries’ universities and other guests attended the opening ceremony of the forum.

The deputy education ministers of Azerbaijan and Romania held a meeting as part of the forum. The model of double diploma, exchange of students and teachers between both countries’ universities, and other prospects of cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

Documents on cooperation between the countries’ universities were signed. The opening ceremony was followed by panel discussions.

Gurbanov said that representatives from the two countries’ universities have come together for the first time at such scale. He noted that this forum will be an important platform for strengthening of the ties among both countries’ universities.

Paraschiv noted that the forum will significantly give an impetus to development of the bilateral relations. According to him, this event will open a door to a dialogue and joint cooperation among universities.
