SOCAR President: $8.5B invested in TANAP so far

“The Southern Gas Corridor, as well we its components TANAP and TAP are significant projects in terms of ensuring of energy security of Europe”, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said in his interview to Anadolu agency.
He noted that the success of the project is based on healthy relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey: “For the present, 77.3% works have been completed in TANAP. As you know, this pipeline will initially transport 6 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey in the second half of 2018. In the second stage, the pipeline will transport 10 bcm of gas to Europe. We’ll be ready for the second stage in 2019, but Europe will in 2020. It’s good that Turkey supports this project and thanks to this, we are ahead of the schedule”.
