Protraction of Jerusalem problem indicates existence of double standards in int’l policy - Ambassador
The protraction of the Jerusalem problem indicates the existence of double standards in international policy, Azerbaijani Ambassador on Special Foreign Ministry Missions Shahin Abdullayev said at the fourth international conference on the Question of Jerusalem.
The ambassador noted that some UN resolutions get fulfilled, whereas others remained on paper for years.

"Azerbaijan is in the same situation. The Security Council passed resolutions in 1993 calling for an end to the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh. But those resolutions have not been fulfilled yet. The reason for this is the absence of an executive mechanism. Another reason is that some countries show a passive attitude to pressing issues and do not put pressure on the occupier. The double standards are obvious," he said.

Abdullayev said that he hopes the international conference in Baku will result in the resolution of the problem surrounding the city of Jerusalem, which is considered to be a holy city of the Arab-Muslim world.
