Azerbaijan prevents another Armenian sabotage, 1 killed - VIDEO
Azerbaijani Armed Forces have prevented another Armenian sabotage, the enemy suffered losses, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said Aug. 8.
On Aug. 8, reconnaissance and sabotage group of Armenian Armed Forces attempted to infiltrate into the positions of Azerbaijani Armed Forces in order to carry out another act of provocation.

As a result of immediate measures taken, one of the members of the sabotage group, which had to retreat, was killed.

There are no casualties among military personnel of Azerbaijani Armed Forces and the operational situation along the line of contact is completely under control, said the Defense Ministry.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. The 1994 ceasefire agreement was followed by peace negotiations. Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts.
