The ten-day festival is co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The festival will see local and foreign musicians perform Uzeyir Hajibayov’s and other composers’ works at Baku Organ and Chamber Music Hall of the Muslum Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall, Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, Azerbaijan Composers` Union and Baku Music Academy.
Note, Uzeyir bey Hajibeyov was an Azerbaijani and Soviet composer, conductor, scientist, publicist, playwright, teacher, translator, and social figure. He is recognized as the father of Azerbaijani classical music and opera. Uzeyir Hajibeyov composed music for the national anthem of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (also the anthem of the modern Republic of Azerbaijan) as well as the state anthem of Azerbaijan SSR.
