 President: Pakistan supports Azerbaijan’s fair position on Karabakh conflict 

Pakistan supports the fair position of Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, President of Pakistan Arif Alvi said during a meeting with a delegation led by Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir-Hasanov, the Azerbaiani Defense Ministry reported.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Minister Hasanov conveyed warm words of welcome and best wishes from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The defense minister, noting that our country attaches great importance to relations, in particular, military cooperation with Pakistan, stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in the field of security, military, military-technical, military-educational and other spheres.

The Pakistani leader, in turn, asked to convey his warm words of welcome and deep respect to the Azerbaijani president. Pakistan’s president, noting the high level of interstate relations, as well as friendly relations between the two peoples, stressed the importance of developing cooperation in the field of defense, military-technical and other areas.

President A.Alvi, expressing satisfaction with Pakistan’s support for Azerbaijan in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and noting that this will continue, stressed that Pakistan does not recognize Armenia as a state due to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands.

During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on other issues of interest.
