OSCE MG co-chairs presented new document at Washington meeting – Azerbaijani FM

The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs presented a new document for discussion at the recent meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers in the U.S. capital, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told reporters on Monday, AzVision.az reports.

The minister noted that the document is currently being considered.

“We discussed the issue of ensuring calmness on the contact line of troops during the Washington meeting. I stressed that there was no calm on the contact line when the talks were intensified. However, we have had serious discussions,” Mammadyarov said.

He added that the parties are currently working on the March 9 statement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov held a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Washington on June 20 through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

During their discussions, the parties exchanged views on recent developments on the ground and core issues of the process of resolving the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The foreign ministers clarified their positions and expectations with respect to implementation of the humanitarian and security measures proposed by the mediators during their last trip to the region.
