3rd DokuBaku Int’l Film Festival to be held in October

DokuBaku International Documentary Film Festival will be held from October 2nd to October 6th this year for the third time. DokuBaku was created by Imam Hasanov and Veronika Janatkova.

The International Film Festival brings the best documentaries from different parts of the world to Baku. As DokuBaku, we show both short (up to 40 minutes) and full-length (over 60 minutes) hybrid and creative documentaries. Annually festival covers extensive topics (Testing reality 2017, Intersection 2018) and this year DokuBaku choose “Truthfulness” as its main theme. The topic’s condition is to show the difficulties of an increasingly polarized world view and finding the points of intersection of fragmented societies.

Along with festival program, which is irreplaceable and unique as the life intended for a wide audience, DokuBaku will support local filmmakers by showing their documentaries.

As every year, this year’s DokuBaku program will include 15 full-length and 15 short international and local documentaries. For the first time this year, Germany will participate as a “guest country”. Films will be provided to viewers with English and Azerbaijani subtitles. We would like to note that the partners of DokuBaku IDFF are “Goethe-Zentrum Baku”, “EU Delegation to Azerbaijan”, “The Landmark Hotel Baku”, and “United Cultures”.

DokuBaku International Film Festival announces the FILM ACCEPTANCE is open and invites you to the local and foreign film screenings. We are looking for exciting, innovative stories and documentaries that have a creative solution. We would like to mention that by accessing our website you can support us by becoming a volunteer too. Applications are accepted until August 15, 2019. We are full of enthusiasm and waiting for your movies.
