Details of Armenian soldier’s death revealed - UPDATED

Armenia’s Investigative Committee has released the details over the death of soldier Volodya Galoyan in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.

On July 23, at 22:55, soldier Volodya Galoyan fired a shot from his service assault rifle at his fellow soldier in the military unit. Immediately after firing the shot, Galoyan left the area of the military post, after which his body was found at about 50 meters away from the military position with a gunshot wound and his assault rifle on his side at 04:20, on July 24, AzVision.az reported citing Armenpress.

Criminal case has been launched over the incident on “causing suicide or attempted suicide through negligence or deliberately by threats, cruel treatment or regular humiliation of personal dignity”.

Investigation is underway.

An Armenian soldier was killed in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.

Soldier Volodya Galoyan, born in 2000, received a fatal gunshot wound overnight July 23 in a military unit stationed in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reported citing Armenian media.

The circumstances of the incident are not known yet. Investigation is underway to clarify the details of the incident.
