 Turkic Council welcomes Azerbaijan’s decision to lift visa requirements for Turkish citizens

The Secretariat of the Turkic Council welcomes the decision of Azerbaijan to abolish visa requirements for Turkish citizens, which will be effective as of 1 September 2019, the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) said in a message on July 25, AzVision.az reports.

The message noted that the facilitation of visa regime between Azerbaijan and Turkey will serve as the anchor point drawing the two brotherly countries closer together by boosting bilateral trade, stimulating tourism growth and ensuring the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in both countries. 

“We congratulate brotherly countries Azerbaijan and Turkey for this important decision that will further deepen cooperation among the Turkic Speaking States and help ensure continued prosperity and welfare of the Turkic World,” read the message. 

The Formula 1 SOCAR Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2019 was held in Baku on April 28.

Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes is the winner of SOCAR Azerbaijan Grand Prix Formula 1 Race.

Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes came in second, while Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari came in third.

The length of the Baku track where teams competed for the championship is just over six kilometers. The length of the widest part of the track is 13 meters, and the narrowest width is 7.6 meters between the turns 7 and 8, which are situated along the Icheri Sheher (Inner City).

The Start and Finish lanes are located at the Azadlig Square.

Formula One’s highest speed record of 378 km per hour was reached by Williams’s Valtteri Bottas at the 2016 F1 Grand Prix of Europe in Baku.
