The first Harry Potter book, with a few mistakes made during its publication, went under the hammer in England for £ 28.5 thousand ($ 35 thousand), BBC reported.

The auction was conducted by the Hansons Auctioneers auction house, and they were arranged on Wednesday in honor of the birthday of Harry Potter, as well as the author of the fantastic saga Joan Rowling.

This is the first edition of the 1997 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone book, the first novel in a series of books about a wizard boy.

The first edition could be identified by two typographical errors, including "Philosopher's" being spelt as "Philospher's", the auctioneers added.

The previous owner of the book, a 54-year-old office worker, bought a book on second-hand collapse about 20 years ago for £ 1.
