Azerbaijan does not interfere in internal affairs of other states – top official

Azerbaijan, pursuing its foreign policy on the basis of the norms and principles of international law against the background of tense international relations, does not interfere in the internal affairs of other states, and does not allow anyone to interfere in its internal affairs, said Hikmet Hajiyev, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration.

He made the remarks during a meeting with the winners of the competition for financing Master Degree studies in the universities abroad, announced by the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, AzVision.az reported.

Hajiyev answered the participants’ questions on Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, as well as the country’s policy in tourism, transport and trade sectors. He noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Republic of Azerbaijan has made significant strides in all areas of state building, including foreign policy.

“Azerbaijan is a country that pursues an independent foreign policy. This policy aims to protect the country’s national interests. This policy, the foundation of which was laid by great leader Heydar Aliyev, is carried out on a multidimensional and balanced basis with pragmatic and realistic principles, taking into account historical experience and geopolitical realities,” the top official added.
