  Swiss companies interested in cooperation in Azerbaijan’s energy sector

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has received a delegation led by Director General of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce Vincent Subilia, AzVision.az reports referring to the Ministry of Energy.

During the meeting in Baku, the Azerbaijani minister and the delegation discussed the issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Switzerland in the field of energy.

The sides stressed that Switzerland plays an important role in selling a number of energy products and raw materials along with oil and the country's companies are interested in cooperation in Azerbaijan’s energy sector.

In this regards, SOCAR provides an example of the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan with Switzerland, said the report. The Swiss company AXPO is a buyer of gas in the second phase of the development of the Shah Deniz gas condensate field and is also represented in the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline Consortium (TAP).

“There are great opportunities for cooperation with the Swiss companies in the energy sector and favorable mechanisms have been formed to attract foreign investors in renewable energy projects,” the minister said.
