Azerbaijan condemns biased resolution by US House of Reps on “Armenian genocide”

"We condemn the resolution #296 passed by the U.S. House of Representatives regarding the so-called "Armenian genocide" and believe that its biased and unfair," Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev said, AzVision.az reports.

Hikmat Hajiyev condemned the resolution and stated that he considered it biased and unfair: “This resolution has no political, legal or historical basis, has been adopted as a result of the efforts of the pro-Armenian lobby groups. The events happened at that time should be investigated by historians, not politicians.”

Armenia and Armenian lobby circles have turned the so-called Armenian genocide into an object of political speculation. For this purpose, they are trying to conceal the crimes committed by Armenians in the South Caucasus and other regions. Thus, Armenia does not accept Turkey's proposal to examine the events of that period by the Joint Historical Commission. Attempts to falsify history, “rewrite history” and use it for political pressure are inadmissible.
