"Pandemic spreads fast. The situation in Europe is improving, however globally the situation is not good, " said Dr. Hande Harmanci, Representative of the World Health Organization in Azerbaijan, at the press conference of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.
"21% of those infected with COVID-19 in Europe are medical workers, 95% of those who die suffer from other diseases, and 94% are over 65. Vaccines are being developed around the world. Currently, WHO works on 10 vaccines for clinical evaluation. Vaccine is at the final stage of trial. Hopefully, the vaccine will be available for vulnerable groups and health workers by the end of 2020, ” Harmanci noted.
