“We are proud to support the sovereignty and independence of Azerbaijan,” the diplomat stressed.
He said that due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the Embassy is unable to host an Independence Day celebration.
“Usually on July 4, the U.S. Embassy hosts a celebration of our Independence Day. Last year we welcomed many of our good friends from Azerbaijan to a great event in the Embassy garden, and many more of you joined the party via our Facebook live stream. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, we cannot gather as usual this year. Despite these challenges, this does not mean that we can’t virtually celebrate America’s 244th birthday,” Litzenberger added.
In his message, the ambassador also spoke about the history of the U.S. Constitution that begins “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union.” He urged respect for fundamental human rights.
