The head of state made the remarks Thursday during a video conference on measures being taken to combat the coronavirus pandemic and the socio-economic situation in the country, AzVision.az reports.
"Today the disease is under control as a result of such operative and purposeful steps. I would like to restate that the number of infected people has been decreasing over the last three weeks. Certainly, all these steps enable us to get out of this situation with honor, protecting our people," President Aliyev noted.
"We had difficulties regarding the number of doctors. Therefore, we considered the issue of inviting doctors from abroad. Currently, doctors from several countries have been invited and they engage with treatment of patients in Azerbaijan. Medical brigades coming from Turkey, Russia, Cuba, Italy and China have already started their operation. This provides us with additional opportunities. In these countries, the field of healthcare is well-developed, the experience is at a high level. Therefore, issues regarding the treatment of patients and the exchange of experience are addressed here in a complex manner," the head of the state also stated.
"We will continue to take all necessary measures to protect people's health. Azerbaijani people know our position. I would like to restate that the first issue for us is people's life and health," President Aliyev also added.
