Joint exercises to be held within "Caucasus-2020" - Russian Defense Minister

The defense ministers of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have agreed to expand cooperation in the fight against terrorism, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told reporters.

First joint exercises of these organizations will be held within the "Caucasus - 2020".

"Joint tasks will be implemented to combat terrorism within the Caucasus-2020 Strategic Command and Staff Training at the end of September," Shoigu stated speaking at a joint meeting of CIS, SCO and CSTO Defense Ministers in Russia.

The format of the first joint exercises has not been specified yet.

Note, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov also attended the meeting.
