 Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office issues press release on Armenian Armed Forces’ attacks

The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan issued a press release on the large-scale provocations committed by the Armenian Armed Forces, AzVisionaz reports.

On September 27, at about 06:00, the Armenian side shelled the positions of the Azerbaijan Army along the entire length of the front and Azerbaijani human settlements located in the frontline zone with large-calibre weapons, mortars, and artillery mounts of various calibres. 

The press release reads as follows:

"The military-political leadership of Armenia, which pursues a hypocritical and unconstructive policy, has also committed various crimes against the civilian population and deliberately shelled the civilian population of the Republic of Azerbaijan grossly violating the fundamental norms and principles of international law".

As a result of the intensive shelling by the enemy of the village of Gapanli in the Terter region, the villages of Chiragly and Orta in Gervend of the Aghdam region, the villages of Alkhanli and Shukurbeyli in the Fizuli region and the village of Jojug Marjanli in the Jebrail region, there are killed and wounded among the civilian population. Serious damage was inflicted on civilian infrastructure facilities. 

As a result of the intensive shelling by the enemy, civilians were killed and wounded, and many houses and civilian objects were seriously damaged in Gapanly village of Terter District, Chiraghli and Orta Garvand villages of Aghdam District, Alkhanli and Shukurbayli villages of Fuzuli District, and Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrail District.

By now, 9 civilians have been hospitalized with various injuries.

It is also reported that as a result of the shelling of civilian objects by the enemy, a number of residential buildings were seriously damaged, small and large horned animals and haystacks were destroyed.

At present combat conditions all necessary investigative measures are being carried out by the prosecution authorities. Appropriate examinations to determine the severity of bodily injuries, as well as to estimate the amount of damage inflicted to civilian infrastructure are appointed.
