Armenian army’s manpower destroyed: Azerbaijani MoD

Over the past day, the Azerbaijani Army has destroyed Armenia’s armed forces that shelled Azerbaijan’s defensive positions and residential settlements on the frontline and along the state border, Lieutenant Colonel Anar Eyvazov, spokesperson for the Defence Ministry, told a briefing on Tuesday, AzVision.az reports.

He noted that the Armenian armed forces, stationed in occupied Kalbajar district, as well as in Berd and Vardenis districts, shelled Azerbaijan’s combat positions in Goygol, Tovuz and Dashkasan districts, respectively.

Eyvazov said over the past day, the Armenian side also shelled residential settlements in Azerbaijan’s Goranboy, Tartar and Aghdam districts, killing two civilians and wounding another one.

The spokesperson added that the Azerbaijan Army conducted successful operations against Armenian forces that attempted to regain positions they lost in the Aghdere-Aghdam, Fuzuli-Hadrut-Jabrayil and Gubadli-Zangilan directions.

As a result of artillery fire and special operations by the Azerbaijani Army, the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 246th regiments, as well as the 10th mountain rifle regiment and the 18th motorized rifle regiment of the Armenian armed forces suffered heavy losses, Eyvazov said.

He noted that having suffered heavy losses, the Armenian troops were forced to retreat.

The Azerbaijani Army is fully controlling the operational situation along the entire front, the spokesperson said.

Eyvazov also appealed to the population.

“The dissemination of military information by some citizens on social networks violates military secrecy and may pose a threat to the life of Azerbaijani servicemen,” he said.

“Therefore, it is recommended to share only official information,” the spokesman added. “We urge citizens to be extremely careful in this issue and not to disseminate unofficial data. The Azerbaijani army will soon liberate our lands from occupation. The victory is ours."
