Armenian President fires Chief of Border Guards of NSS

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian signed a decree dismissing Vaghinak Sargsyan from the post of commander of the border troops of the National Security Service of Armenia.

According to the press service of the President of Armenia, the decision was made at the suggestion of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The President of Armenia appointed Arman Maralchyan to this position.

Note that Sargsyan served as the commander of the border troops of the National Security Service of Armenia since June 11, 2018.

The borders of Armenia with Georgia, Turkey and Iran are guarded by the servicemen of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia.
