Meet the Azerbaijani serviceman heroically martyred while defending Motherland -   VIDEO/PHOTOS

Serviceman of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Ensign Yusifzade Khudayar was martyred on October 22, during battles for the liberation of Agband settlement of Azerbaijan's Zangilan district.

The 22-year-old martyr amazed everyone with his magnificent performance of the song "Vatan" (Motherland) during the Karabakh war. The video showing the Azerbaijani serviceman's singing the song emerged on social networks.

Khudayar was  born in Barda and has 3 brothers and one sister. His father died 24 days after he was born.

The martyr's brother Mahammad Yusifzade told Azvision.az that Khudayar went to the army after graduating from high school.

"Khudayar wanted to be servicemen from his childhood, and after his military service, he applied to the State Border Service, and after 3 months of training, he started serving as a ensign in Astara. After General of the Azerbaijani Army Polad Hashimov was martyred, a group of people from Astara, as well as my brother, went to fight voluntarily."

Yusifzade said he did not know that his brother fought in the battles. "He did not tell us anything about it. Only my uncle and cousin knew he was in battle. We thought he was in the training until we heard the news of his martyrdom.

According to his colleagues, they fought in the direction of Kalbajar, in the Murov heights. Then they were at Fuzuli, Jabrayil and Zangilan. He was killed in the battles for the liberation of Agband village between Zangilan and Gubadli.

They liberate the village in the evening, and at 7 o'clock in the morning the Armenian sabotage group attacked again. They fought from a very close distance of 20-25 meters. While repelling the attack, Khudayar was martyred on the battlefield. However, even in his last breath, Khudayar destroyed the enemy who wounded him and took revenge on himself and his comrades.

His friends told us, “If Khudayar weren't with us, we couldn’t move forward. When we came from the battle, one of us was wounded and the other was martyred. We came to rest in such anxiety and stress. But Khudayar always cheered us up and we were ready for battle in the morning. During the fight, he made such jokes that we just looked at each other and laughed. " Khudayar always boosted the morale of his comrades.
