The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced a number of military servicemen killed in the second Nagorno-Karabakh, AzVision.az reports citing the statement of the MoD.
The statement reads as follows:
"On September 27, 2020, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijan Armed Forces started a war to liberate the occupied territories from the Armenian occupation in response to the military aggression of Armenia.
2783 military servicemen of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces were killed in the second Nagorno-Karabakh war. Also, In the case of unidentified bodies of 100 servicemen, a DNA profile is being used to establish the identity of them. More than 100 servicemen went missing. Azerbaijan MoD took necessary measures to find missing servicemen and inform their families. Currently, 1245 servicemen are being treated at hospitals.
The public will be updated about additional information about the names, dates of birth, ranks of the martyrs. A commission consisting of employees of relevant government agencies is working in this direction.
