Azerbaijan’s Bar Association appeals to international organizations

The Azerbaijani Bar Association addressed a legally and factually substantiated report to more than 230 international organizations, including international human rights organizations, bar associations of foreign countries, law societies and 40 officials of higher institutions to give a legal assessment to and strongly condemn environmental and cultural terrorism committed by the Republic of Armenia within the scope of their authorities, the Association told AzVision.az.

“The 44-day counter-offensive measures conducted by Azerbaijan in response to the provocations committed by Armenia against the civilian population of Azerbaijan on September 27 has been successfully completed and by the signing of trilateral statement on November 10, the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan was restored and the long-standing occupation was ended,” the Association said.

“As the historical lands of Azerbaijan occupied by the Armenian armed forces were liberated, the whole world witnessed another face of Armenian terror - cultural, historical and environmental vandalism. Armenian fascists destroyed and looted houses, schools, historical and cultural monuments in the occupied territories, burned forests and cut down trees.”

“The armenianization of some architectural monuments in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and the vandalism of others is a matter of serious concern. As a result of these illegal actions of Armenia, the Islamic religious monuments, gardens, parks and architectural ensembles left in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan have long been destroyed by the Armenians and become history,” it added.
