  ANAMA demining group’s team leader hits landmine in Aghdam

On January 29, Elmaddin Mirzayev, 38, the demining group’s team leader at the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), while on duty in the liberated Aghdam district was hit by anti-personnel mine buried by the Armenian side, resulting in traumatic amputation of his left leg ankle and was heavily by multiple fragments, the Agency told AzVision.az.

Currently, Mirzayev is placed in the Aghdam District Central Hospital, and his condition is consistently serious.

“We would like to emphasize once again that these areas are liberated from occupation and for security reasons, without special permission the entry of civilians into the area is strictly prohibited,” the Agency noted.
