"Number of infections was expected to rise" - Shahmar Movsumov

"We have been living in a pandemic for more than a year. We regularly witness waves. These coronavirus waves happen differently in each country. Most countries apply restrictions amid new waves. Restrictions reduce the speed of the wave and enable countries to ensure the sustainability of the health care system," Head of the Department of Economic Issues and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahmar Movsumov said at briefing of Operational Headquarters, AzVision.az reports.

"The number of infections in Azerbaijan has recently begun to rise. It was expectable after easing restrictions. Infection rate started to rise in relation with human mobility. As the number of COVID-19 cases increases, so does the number of deaths," Movsumov added.
