"I am proud that there are strategically strong relations between Romania and Azerbaijan," former deputy prime minister of Romania Ana Birchall said.
"I have always promoted and supported close ties between Romania and Azerbaijan. There are many opportunities to expand relations in various fields. Regular meetings of the intergovernmental commission are regularly held. I myself have co-chaired these meetings. I am glad that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also appreciates this strategic partnership," Ana Birchall added.
She also said that Romania was the first EU country to recognize Azerbaijan's Independence: "Romania has always recognized the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan within its international borders."
