Several documents signed at Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan business forum in Tashkent

An Uzbek-Azerbaijani business forum has been held in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent city with the support of the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry, Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Chamber of Trade and Industry of Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry told AzVision.az reports.

Entrepreneurs engaged in construction, industrial, agricultural and other activities took part in the forum, along with officials from both countries.

Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov noted the upward development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, also great potential for expanding cooperation.

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan can export products to other countries, having expanded cooperation, Umurzakov said.

Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said that relations between two countries are at a high level, economic cooperation is developing, adding that mutual visits of presidents of both countries and ongoing negotiations are important in the development of bilateral cooperation.

Jabbarov emphasized the possibilities of strengthening partnerships in industrial, agricultural, trade, investment and other spheres, and invited Uzbek businessmen to take advantage of the favorable business environment in Azerbaijan to implement joint projects.

Chairman of the board Association ‘Uzeltexsanoat’ (Uzbekistan) Mirziyod Yunusov, Chairman of the Uztekstilprom Association Ilkhom Haydarov and Chairman of the Executive Board of the Azerbaijan Jewellers Association Togrul Abbasguliyev also took part in the forum.

The participants spoke about the expansion of ties in relevant sectors of economy, export and investment potential, investment and business environment of each country.

A number of documents were signed between the relevant structures of two countries within the framework of the business forum:

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the sphere of protection of copyright and related rights between the Copyright Agency of Azerbaijan Republic and Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan’ was signed. Document was signed by Chairman of the Board of the the Copyright Agency of Azerbaijan Republic Kamran Imanov and the Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan Ruslanbek Davletov.

‘Program for cooperation in the sphere of tourism for 2022 between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Uzbekistan was signed by the Chairman of State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Republic Fuad Naghiyev and the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov.

A MoU between the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan Republic and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan was signed by Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmedkhadzhaev.

An Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of archives between The National Archive Department of the Republic of Azerbaijan and UzArchive Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan was also signed. Document was signed by the Chief of National Archives Department Asgar Rasulov and the Chairman of the UzArchive Agency Ulugbek Yusupov.

A MoU between the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Agency of Information and Mass Communication under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed by Executive Director of the Media Development Agency Ahmad Ismayilov and Director of the Agency of Information and Mass Communication Asadjon Khojaev.

A MoU on cooperation between the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) and the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed by acting President of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev and Director of the Export Promotion Agency Ulugbek Muradov.

A MoU on cooperation between the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed by acting President of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhabov.

A MoU on cooperation between the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) and the Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed by acting President of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev and Director of the Investment Promotion Agency of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Kasimkhodjaev.

A MoU on cooperation between Azerbaijan’s SMBDA and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed by Chairman of the Board of SMBDA Orkhan Mammadov and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhabov.

A Memorandum on localization of car production in Azerbaijan between Azermash OJSC and UzAvtoSanoat JSC’ was signed by Chairman of Board at Azermash Emin Akhundov and Deputy Chairman of UzAvtoSanoat Sardor Tadjiyev.

A Memorandum on the export of products to Uzbekistan between Azerbaijan’s NargizMED company and Meri Naturel company (Uzbekistan) was signed by the Director of NargizMED Malahat Shahramanova and the Director of Meri Naturel Miravzal Mirsadikov.

A MoU on cooperation between the Azerbaijan Textile Producers and Exporters Association and the UzTextile textile and garment industry Association (Uzbekistan) was signed by Vice-President of the Azerbaijani association Sakina Babayeva and First Deputy Chairman of the Uztekstilprom Association Mirmukhsin Sultanov.

A MoU on cooperation between the Azerbaijan Construction Materials Manufacturers Association and the Association of Enterprises of Building Materials Industry of Uzbekistan ‘Uzpromstroymaterialy’ was signed by Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijani association Mais Gasimov and First Deputy Chairman of Uzpromstroymaterialy Association Azizbek Bakhodirov.

A MoU on scientific cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan was also signed during the meeting held within the framework of the forum. The document was signed by the acting President of ANAS Arif Hashimov and Minister of Innovative Development Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov.

A MoU on cooperation between ANAS and the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan was also signed during the forum. The document was signed by Acting President of ANAS Arif Hashimov and President of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Academician Bekhzod Yuldashev.

The Uzbek-Azerbaijani forum continued with bilateral meetings between business representatives from both countries.
