Russia-Ukraine war caused logistical problems in Black Sea - Azerbaijani minister

The Russia-Ukraine war has threatened global food security and caused logistical problems in the Black Sea. The international financial institutions should assess and analyze the situation, Samir Sharifov, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) Governor for Azerbaijan and Minister of Finance, said at the 24th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Bank, AzVision.az reports.

"Moreover, the BSTDB has successfully overcome the difficulties of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic," he added.

"Azerbaijan, as one of the co-founders of the BSTDB, is committed to its efforts in the region's economic development. Our country has been active in the bank's development in a short time. The bank has new goals to expand its geographical area, and we fully support them," he said.
