  Türkiye appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan

Under the decision of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Birol Akgün has been appointed as Türkiye's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reports.

The corresponding decree of the Turkish leader was published on the Resmi Gazete legal information portal. Previously, Birol Akgün held the position of chairman of the Turkish Maarif Vakfi Educational Foundation.

Other appointments were also made under the presidential decree. Zeki Levent Gumrukcu became the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye.

Additionally, Ferhat Alkan was appointed as Türkiye's ambassador to the Republic of Mozambique, and the President's Chief Advisor Yakup Caymazoglu was appointed as ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Ambassadors to Cuba and the UAE were also appointed.
