Foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and UK hold political consultations
Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom Alan Duncan have conducted political consultations between the two countries` foreign ministries.
Khalafov hailed rapid development of the political dialogue between Azerbaijan and the UK. He said that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to partnership with the UK.

Minister of State Alan Duncan said that his country also attaches importance to the strategic dialogue with Azerbaijan. He said that a new agreement on the development of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields is a clear manifestation of close ties, mutual understanding and professional investment projects between the two countries.

On the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Khalafov said that unfortunately the OSCE Minsk Group-mediated negotiations on the settlement of the dispute have not yielded any results.

Duncan said the UK supports the principle of the rule of law in international affairs and condemns intervention of states in territories of other states and annexation of territories by force.

They also discussed Azerbaijan-EU ties and Eastern Partnership program.
