Azerbaijan’s consul in Iraq visits child found in territories freed from ISIL
Consul of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Iraq Zabi Akhundov has visited an Azerbaijani child, called Abdulla, who was found in territories freed from ISIL and is currently kept in an orphanage in Iraq, the Foreign Ministry told, AzVision.az reports citing APA.
The child’s grandfather and relatives in Azerbaijan have already been identified, the Foreign Ministry said.

Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Iraq is regularly in contact with relevant state bodies of the country to identify the child’s identity and his relatives in Azerbaijan, bringing him to Azerbaijan and handing over to his relatives.



The Azerbaijani Embassy also focuses attention on the issues of other compatriots who have faced similar situations in Iraq, provides necessary consular support and continues to contact the relevant Iraqi authorities in this regard, added the Foreign Ministry.
