GUAM’s 20th anniversary to be marked at ministerial level in Tbilisi
The 20th anniversary of GUAM – a regional organization for democracy and economic development – will be marked at the level of foreign ministers in Tbilisi on Oct. 8, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said on Oct. 3.
GUAM member countries are on the transport corridor that is being planned, Mammadyarov told a press conference following the meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin in Baku, AzVision.az reports.

“This helps us hold lengthy discussions between transport, railway, and border officials. Four member countries are suffering from conflict. All the four countries display the same stance in international organizations,” he said.

Klimkin, in turn, noted that GUAM countries share similar political targets.

“I am confident that each member country has a bright economic future. We’re partly benefiting from free trade opportunities. In addition to transport, there are some important areas of cooperation. We have a unique partnership model,” he added.
