In his speech at the meeting of the Azerbaijani President with the delegation led by chairman of the Political and Security Committee of the Council of the European Union, Nicolas Suran said: "Our aim is quite clear - settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of the Helsinki Final Act and according to international law principles. As you know, refraining from the threat or use of force, territorial integrity of States and self-determination of peoples are the main principles of the Helsinki Act. You can rely on our impartiality on finding the best solution as a co-chair of the Minsk Group".

"We consider that status quo in Nagorno-Karabakh is unacceptable and we should definitely achieve political settlement", Nicolas Suran, the ambassador of the Council of the European Union from France accredited in Brussels told during the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
