Jeenbekov won presidential election in Kyrgyzstan in first round - preliminary results
According to the preliminary results of the Central Election Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the candidate from the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov is solely in the presidential election.
"Preliminary data of the CEC at 20:15: Jeenbekov - 50.25%, Babanov - 38.73%," the local newspaper AKIpress reported.

The CEC also published information on the turnout. As of 20:00, almost 56% of voters came to the polls - more than 1.5 million citizens. The total number of voters is 3,250,786 people.

11 candidates are participating in the elections: Arstanbek Abdyldaev, Ernis Zarlykov, Temir Sariev, Ulukbek Kochkorov, Toktoaiym Umetaliyeva, Taalatbek Masadykov, Omurbek Babanov, Azimbek Beknazarov, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, Adakhan Madumarov and Arslanbek Maliyev.

Jeenbekov held the post of prime minister of the state until August 21, 2017, when he announced that he was going to run for president.

Since 2011, the president of Kyrgyzstan was Almazbek Atambayev.
