New bridge over Samur River to be launched in 2019

New bridge over Samur River to be launched in 2019

I’m sure that the new motorway bridge over the Samur River will accelerate the operation of checkpoints, Minister of Transport, Communication and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade said at the groundbreaking ceremony of the bridge.

He noted, the new bridge will lead to increase of passenger and cargo transportation in both directions.

Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov noted that construction of a bridge over Samur River is caused by increase of trade turnover between Russia and Azerbaijan, including the Caspian states: “This agreement was signed in 2013. The old bridge does not meet the modern standards. I hope that the bridge will be launched in spring months of 2019”.
