Leyla Aliyeva praised UNICEF's efforts to improve the situation of children all over the world and stressed that ensuring the well-being, health and education of children is the most valuable asset for our future. She noted that great progress has been made in this field in Azerbaijan in recent years. Aliyeva expressed confidence that the work in this area would continue and expand. Touching upon the importance of education and awareness of children in the field of environmental protection, Leyla Aliyeva provided detailed information on numerous projects implemented by IDEA Public Union in the last 6 years to increase the environmental awareness of children, as well as eco laboratories, camps, courses and publications.

Afshan Khan expressed her gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva for her active efforts aimed to inform children about environment and sustainable development issues. She noted that UNICEF is interested in incorporating climate change, sustainability and other environmental issues into the curriculum and highly appreciated the activities of IDEA.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for possible cooperation on environmental education of children, as well as exchanged views on issues of integration of children with disabilities into society, their social protection, rehabilitation and education.
